The internet has made online studying a reality, and you can fulfil your dream career without the need of travelling overseas to the college of your dreams. You can bring the school home by choosing the various online courses offered to part-time and overseas students who want to cut the costs of studying. Online studying, however, is not as easy as it sounds, especially when you are raising young kids who need constant monitoring. There are tips which can make online studying easy and fun, even when you have to keep watch on your kids.

Time Organisation

Proper time management is one of the fundamental factors to consider for a successful online career. With kids running around the house, your concentration may be adversely affected and you may not have enough study time. You need to write down a timetable which sets apart housework from schoolwork. Having plenty of food stored in the house will reduce time wastage in shopping for foodstuff and cooking. School going children should also be prepared early in advance by having their packed food and clothes all set for the school day. Such time management plans will give you plenty of time to study in a quiet house with reduced house chores. Online learning with an organisation like Upskilled is also a great way to ensure that you have the ability to juggle your family obligations by studying at your own pace and schedule.

Engage the Entire Family

Young children need constant attention from their parents, and a slight isolation can make them unruly around the house. To make your online studying easy, ensure that you engage your children in the study session to keep them occupied and feeling part of the learning process. Currently, there are kids’ tablets which they can use to read or play educational games to keep them engages while you study from your laptop. You can give them tasks which they need to accomplish by the end of the study session to ensure that they will not disrupt you when studying and reduce noises and commotions around the house. Children who complete their tasks before you are done studying will understand the need of having a quiet studying environment and will have no problem going outside to play, rather than causing commotions in the house. With time, your children will adapt to your study period and will know the do’s and don’ts t give you a quiet study time.

Discipline

When studying online, you will have no one to check on your class attendance, and this could be a demerit for the learners who have no self-discipline. Social media, for example, can take a lot of your study time and you should ensure that you have logged out from all these sites. You are also likely to get tempted to take an afternoon nap, visit a friend or watch a movie instead of studying. Focusing on the bigger picture, which is your study time, will help you in eliminating the possibility of having too much unnecessary leisure time which could be used in your online studying. While studying, you may also opt to switch off the TV or lock yourself in a study room to avoid being carried away by the day’s news and programs.

Seek Help

Sometimes, balancing your online study, housework and your job may not be a simple task as it may drain your energy to concentrate. Having someone to help you with house chores will ensure that you have plenty of time to focus on your studies will little baggage interrupting your learning sessions. A nanny who can take care of your kids while you study will go a long way in reducing breaks to check on your kids. You should designate the required duties to your nanny to ensure that you maintain the least communication in between your study time.

Study when Time is Available

There are times when housework may overwhelm you and interfere with your timetable, especially during the weekends and holidays. Having impromptu learning sessions can help you catch up on time spent doing house chores or travelling time. Take advantage of the time when the children are busy playing outside or asleep to study and compensate for the lost time. You can also use this opportunity to explore ahead just in case you are planning on skipping a few study sessions shortly.
