My special needs daughter Taylor recently turned 18. I am especially grateful for my village of supporters that came out to celebrate her birthday at American Girl Place in Los Angeles. The most amazing thing about American Girl, is that they make every girl feel like a princess. It is such an amazing place, that my daughter beamed with excitement upon her arrival.

The great service, food, and smiles were all the wonderful aspects of the experience that we loved. My uncle Louis Price, a former lead singer for the Temptations even sang to her. His smooth tone and perfect pitch made my daughter feel so special that day. Patrons around us couldn't help but notice the joy that exuded from our table.

Though the last few months have been challenging for her because of her epileptic seizures, this day was perfect. Despite the fact that her quality of life can be a challenge, she still remains happy and grateful for the little things. As I navigate the rough terrain of this new season for her, it felt great to put those challenges aside to celebrate her special day.
