This is my second pregnancy and I am a firm believer in continuing my normal workout routine while pregnant for my own mental health and physical health. This pregnancy I was able to maintain my running and Crossfit, running a half marathon at 32.5 weeks, completing slightly modified Crossfit workouts throughout, and the day I went into labor, contractions all day I ran/walked a fun mile with my 2 year old daughter. When I finally made it to the hospital I was instructed to walk for 30 mins to progress further, but with my mindset walking wasn't enough so I made my husband join me in climbing 11 flights of stairs, 100 squats, sprints through the hallways and walking lunges, with rest breaks during contractions. I truly believe being able to maintain my strength and endurance allowed for a quick labor and delivery and overall allowed me to maintain a happy and healthy pregnancy! I highly recommend, per doctors orders obviously, being active can make a big difference in pregnancy and my story proves to all skeptics that being pregnant should not hold you back or create limitations, with some modifications you can still be strong and pregnant!!
