I've racked up my fair share of debt over the past year or so and I'm unashamed to admit it. With the birth of my daughter prematurely, my life has been flipped and turned upside down. I always fancied myself to be a very orderly and planned person but sometimes life has other plans for you.

I always pay my debts and plan to do so moving forward. Everyone deserves a breather from time to time so that they can get back on their feet. The only problem is, most debt collectors don't want to hear any of that.

Debt collectors are notorious for making our lives into nightmares with their constant barrage of calls and use of intimidation tactics. They are obnoxious, condescending & downright rude when you talk to them. I have found the secret so that they at least talk to you with some respect.

Tell them you are recording the call!

Most of them should realize you mean business and be on their best behavior. But unfortunately others will still hassle and illegally threaten you. Despite the laws governing their actions many creditors & collection companies feel that an individual will not have the time, money or emotional strength to pursue them in court.

The easiest way I have found to record my phone calls is with RecordiaPro. If a debt collector should ever step over the line at least I know that I am protected. I should be free and clear of all of these types of phone calls soon, but at least I can protect myself, my daughter, and my sanity.
