H ey Parents around, I'm aware that you constantly worry about the safety of your kids while dropping off them at school. It wouldn't hurt to set up a few guidelines to ensure their safety.

Tip 1: Presence

Make sure you make efforts to get to know their schedule and happenings around the school. Take part in the voluntary meetings and boost their spirit with your presence.

Tip 2: Information

It is important that your kids are aware of your complete name, mode of communication and address to ensure in case of emergency you can be informed about. If your kid is young enough to remember them, pin up a piece of paper with the required information to ensure their safety.

Tip 3: Stranger danger

Explain them with a pre-lecture on what to do if a stranger approaches them. The best option is to teach them to inform the school authorities as soon as they are approached. Assure them that in case of emergency, someone from the family will contact them rather than sending the news from a stranger.

Tip 4: Transport

If your child uses a bike or bus as a transport mode, make them aware of the traffic rules they have to follow and make safety gear mandatory for their travels.

Tip 5 : NO touching

Give them a pep talk on bad touching from a good one. This is important and tell them to shout out loud for help if someone touches them inappropriately.

Tip 6 : Technology

Nowadays preprogrammed cell phones are available with contact number already set. With the permission of the school authorities, equip them and instruct them on how they can get back to you.

Tip 7 : Pay attention

Have a routine check on their activities. Let it be their seep cycle or new habits. An unusual behaviour indicates that something is wrong and take immediate action.

Tip 8: Lost

Provide them with a practice drill on what to do if they find themselves lost. Tell them to contact any cop or established shops around to help them with.
