My son was born at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia (emergency csection). We were fortunate that he only spent 4 days there, but the time back and forth with my recovery was tough on us and grandparents there from out of state (first grandchild on both sides). Due to my health problems, I did not get to go to the NICU to hold him until he was 2 days old. I know others have far worse stories than ours, but this is our experience. He is now a very smart, kind, and caring 7.5 year old.
