One way that I have learned to reduce holiday stress is to give my children a couple things that they want from their holiday list. My youngest daughter loves American Girl. Specifically, she is obsessed with Wellie Wisher dolls by American Girl. We held off until Christmas to purchase one, and I am sure she will be thrilled on Christmas morning. I am encouraged by American Girl's Give What Counts campaign. It reflects the true spirit of giving, as well as the brand’s goal to nurture children everywhere with stories, experiences, and products that promote strength of character.

Their Give What Counts site also offers girls and parents loads of holidays articles, craft ideas, favorite recipes, and other fun activities to celebrate the season. It was also helpful that my daughter can download Wish List/Give List with space to mark down the gifts they want on one side, and thoughtful suggestions for small kindnesses to give to friends, family, and those in need on the other.

The holidays can be a stressful time, I am grateful for the opportunity to engage my daughter with one of her favorite brands. Parents can also share the ways their girls are doing good and giving back using American Girl’s hashtag #GiveWhatCounts.
