We became our son's foster parents when he was 3 1/2. That first Valentines Day I really wanted to do something special. From Feb. 1-14, every day, I left him a heart shaped note on his door telling him something I loved about him (I did it for my husband too so they shared the experience!). He couldn't read at the time so we shared a special moment to read them every morning when he woke up. He loved getting up and looking for the new note each day. 5 years have passed and his adoption was final 3 years ago. We still have those notes from that first year and now can read them and see just how much we have always loved him!
