At WIT - Whatever It Takes, we have the 11 Tips for Doing WIT. These are the foundation of our work and are embraced by staff and students alike. One of them is the call to, “Live In Alignment”. Why? Because when our actions, words, and values are in sync it brings more ease and purpose to our lives.

Authenticity breeds fulfillment Living authentically allows us to embrace our true selves, fostering genuine connections and a deep sense of satisfaction. Authenticity attracts others and creates meaningful relationships based on shared values. It’s so important to take the time to really get clear on your values. Need help? Check out this. I did this exercise years ago and it helped me identify my top 3: Faith, Family, Freedom. All my decisions go through the lens of these values. It has made life so much more fulfilling!

Improved mental and emotional well-being Aligning our actions with our core values reduces internal conflict, alleviating stress and anxiety. Living authentically promotes mental and emotional well-being, creating a foundation for a more peaceful and contented life. From this peace you’ll find it’s easier to make more intentional, purpose-driven decisions that align with our values and long-term goals. This clarity helps navigate life's challenges and contributes to a more satisfying life. In my own life, the times of greatest angst were when I felt torn and was straddling two different ways of life. Getting clear on what my values were helped me leave relationships, jobs, and friendships that were no longer in alignment.

Positive impact on relationships Living in alignment positively influences relationships with others. Authenticity fosters deeper connections, as individuals are drawn to those who live true to their values. Living in alignment allows for more open communication and understanding, strengthening the bonds between individuals. And if you’ve got someone in your life where you feel you can’t be who you are…maybe ask yourself, “Do we share the same values?”. Your circle of friends might get smaller as you get clearer, but trust me, when it comes to friendships it’s quality over quantity.

Let living in alignment become a guiding force toward a more fulfilling, purpose-driven, and harmonious life. Embracing authenticity, nurturing mental and emotional well-being, making intentional decisions, and discovering life purpose are transformative aspects of living in alignment.
