You've got to find time to recharge.

The thing about life today is that few of us actually spend any time with ourselves. Sure, we spend time alone, but nine time out of ten, we're distracting ourselves with technology or otherwise distracted.

To really be able to address life's stresses, be it parenting or tough days at the job, it's important to give yourself time to relax and regroup.

This article will teach you some of the keys that have worked for me, so you can apply them however you see fit.

Aggressively Address Your Technology Addiction

Notice how I didn't include "if you have one?".

We're all addicted to technology.

Not necessarily in the clinical sense, but in terms of today's norms not necessarily lining up with the way our biology is set up. We're not meant to have so many alerts and dopamine hits in such short amounts of time.

That doesn't make technology bad, it simply means that like an derivation from nature, it comes with some side effects. And the major side effect of today's technology addicted culture is that our attention spans are shorter than ever. A study shows that college students check their phones during close to 12 times per class.

This builds a jittery dependence that makes it difficult for a person to focus and remain still in general.

Get a handle on your technology addiction so that you're able to beat the anxiety and stress that results. Use your phone strictly for when you have a purpose, rather than flipping through it to kill time or to indulge an impulse.

You'd be surprised how much calmer you'll be in your life if you cut your phone off when you get home and definitely leave it out of the bedroom so that you can get optimal sleep. Imagine the amount of willpower, time and calm you'll have if you watch TV only when you want to view a specific program, rather than just surfing through the channels for hours.

This calm and focus will carry over into other areas of your life, allowing you to get so much more out of your days.

Build Your Focus Toolbox

You need to remember that focus is a muscle that you can train. Before turning to medications that will help you focus, try to work on your focus organically.

Spending more time reading, as opposed to vegging out on television can help you build those focus muscles. You can especially build your focus by mixing some non-fiction into your reading list, as opposed to only turning to fiction titles.

You'll definitely want to add meditation to your list of practices when you're looking to increase your ability to focus. There are a lot of meditations that you can adopt, but the key is consistency, rather than just being concerned about which type.

Jogging and going for long walks helps to build your focus, which keeps you on tasks and helps you to decrease stress as a whole.

Get Therapeutic With Your Rest

Taking time to rest is one thing, but you'll also want to be diligent about how you rest. Invest in yourself by finding a local spa. There are different types of spas that specialize in therapeutic treatments, such as acupuncture, massage and saunas.

You can often get skin treatments like dermal fillers and Botox as well that can give you a new look. There are also various masks and other treatments that will open your pores and make your skin glow.

There are tons of wellness benefits you'll find when going to the spa, and you'll go back to your regular life rejuvenated.

Consider these tips and use them so that you can improve your focus and get rid of stress in your life.
