I accept homosexuality, I have taught my child to be accepting. When a middle school classmate was talking about her own struggle with believing she is gay, my daughter said "Well, I'm not going to stop being her friend".
It seems like there are a lot of middle school age and up who struggle with what it actually means. I think there are some who are confused because they hear it around them, who may not actually be gay and others who are. Middle school age means just learning about your own body. Girls have just started getting their menstrual cycles. Boys are starting to pay attention to their own changes and girls. It seems that to choose your sexual identity should come when you know a little more about your own body. How do you handle this? How do you respond to the child who thinks they might be gay?
