Hours and hours of hair dryer and vacuum cleaners over the years

Early on in my journey of motherhood, I noticed certain white noises would lull my little one to sleep quickly. With my second child, I once was blow drying my hair and she fell asleep instantly. I turned it off, and she woke back up. Being a fussy baby, I ran that blow dryer for many hours in those first few weeks!

Fast forward a couple years and my twins had colic and it seemed as if nothing would work. They weren't magically lulled to sleep with a hair dyer, rather, the hum of the vacuum cleaner helped them to fall asleep almost instantly.

I have used that trick with several of my other babies as well. I tell all new mommies, invest in a good sound machine! I now have 10 children, and my last two would fall asleep like clockwork after incorporating a sound machine into their nap and bedtime routines.
