My Hazael was born November 1, 2016 she was breech! After she was born she they did all the new born screening and her jaundice test came back as 19 they want it to be 8 or below. So we stayed in the hospital 2 extra days then we got to go with home health care! So me and my Orange little baby would be home with big sissy! Then when the the home health nurse came out to check her jaundice level it had risen to 21 and we were sent to children directly to the nicu! I might need to mention that if a baby jaundice level reaches 23 it starts to cause brain damage! By the time we got to the nicu her levels was 22! For five days we stayed in the nicu checking levels it going down then shooting back up once she comes off the light! It was very stressful! We were also away from big sissy and trying to make sure Hazael was not effected by her jaundice levels! Her highest level was 23 which is starting in the dangerous levels but finally 5 days of being in the nicu we got to go home! With being in the. I undid lead me and her pediatrician to find that she can not see and she as low muscle tone and a lot of other issues that! My sweet Hazael is such a little fighter and I'm so thankful for the nurses and doctors in the nicu! They are rock stars in many ways and I don't know what we would have done with out them! We learned a lot in a total of 8 days but it was also a great place for my sweet Hazael and I'm so thankful that we were able to get the care she needed!
