We had decided early on that our daughter would carry on our grandmothers' names as they are/were a very important part of our lives. We knew Aurora (my grandmother) Rose (husband's grandmother) would be her name from the very beginning. My husband made a slight change and decided to make both first names her whole first name and now we have beautiful AuroraRose. Although we realize that it may be hard for her to learn her name in school since it is so long, we thought that if that is her only hardship, we are blessed. We have wanted to call her "Rory" as a nickname but we just can't seem to stop saying her beautiful first name.

My advice is to go with your gut. Don't let anyone tell you different. We had some push back from family about the long first name but we wouldn't have it any other way. We love it and know that she will always have her great grandmothers with her.
