Gays have it hard seeing as living as an open member of the LGBTQ+ community is more of a political statement more nowadays than ever. According to a recent study from Netmums in the UK Gay parents offer just as much structure, love and affection, rooted education, systemic positive reinforcement, tolerance and stability as non same-sex parents. So why the cultural stigma?
Do we really believe, as a nation that just because men wear jockstraps in bend that they are unfit parents?
The answer is not rooted in their minds but ours as a diverse modernised culture that celebrates peoples differences in theory but not in practice. It is the discord between the 2 para-dimes that is responsible for intolerance.
Just because gays can be seen as different does not mean they are sub-citizens. Make a difference by accepting someone local.
