When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I had no idea what to do next.

I wanted to crawl into my shell and never talk to anyone again. I had a degree in Biology but I never thought that I would have to use my studies and career choices for something that was so personal.

I always considered my mom to be my best friend. But I never knew that I would lose her from my life so soon. This is why I have devoted my life and my work to helping families with cancer experiences. This is an illness that impacts the entire family, not just one person, and this means that we really need to help one another to get through these difficult times.
