Your kids will be devastated if you plan on moving to a new city. You’ll be ripping them away from everything they know. They will have to start all over again, which includes finding new friends. You need to do everything you can to ease their pain.

It will help if you involve them in the process of selling your home. They won’t feel like they’re suddenly being whisked away one day. Get them to help with little tasks that will increase its value. Here are a few your kids can work on with you.

1. Check Your Home For Leaks

You can’t sell your home if it’s falling apart. If a potential buyer finds a problem their offer will be much lower. Thankfully, your kids will be able to find problems you can’t see because of your size.

They will need to look behind your appliances to ensure there are no leaks. Tell your kids to look for small puddles of water on the floor. If they aren’t fixed you’ll eventually end up with a mold problem.

2. Get Rid Of All The Clutter

I hope your kids keep their rooms spotless at the moment, but it’s unlikely they’re perfect. If potential buyers see things lying around it will probably cost you a lot more money than you think.

People will wonder what else you’ve been neglecting. Therefore, it’s crucial there is no clutter in any rooms. You can also get your kids to help you organize a yard sale to get rid of all your rubbish.

3. Building A Low-Flow Toilet

Children are used to finding things around the house and coming up with cool inventions. You’ll be able to let them build a DIY toilet for you. If you have an empty plastic bottle you can get started.

Ask your kids to take it into the garden to fill with gravel stones. When you place it into the toilet tank it won’t need as much water to fill up. If you use less water it will reduce your bills.

4. You Need To Paint The Walls

Kids spend a good chunk of their childhood painting, so they shouldn’t have any problems helping you with the walls. Please don’t let them stand on ladders to reach higher in case they fall and hurt themselves.

After a few years your walls will look like they’re falling apart, so it’s a good idea to give them a fresh coat of paint. Even though it’s cheap to buy it can make a considerable difference to your home’s value.

5. Improving Your Air Quality

Most people would ask their kids to help them bake cookies on the day potential buyers were visiting. These days everyone knows it’s used to mask bad smells. It’s more beneficial to improve your air quality.

Take your kids to the garden center and ask them to pick out plants. They’ll do a wonderful job of making your rooms smell better. Viewers will also feel happy and relaxed when they’re inspecting your home.

Your Kids Will Have Lots Of Fun

If you get your kids to help with the moving process they’ll have lots of fun. You’ll also love the fact they won’t be devastated about the move. I’m sure you’ll already have enough things to worry about.
