In today’s fast-moving society, it is more important for parents to intentionally connect with their kids. Here are 10 ideas that can help parents to better know their children and pass on a legacy of faith and fun to their children:

  • You must ask your children during the dinner to share one piece of good news and bad news from the day. It will enhance the thinking skills of your children, and it will also develop confidence in your children to deal with others.

You should arrange regular kids’ night to cook. You must set up a restaurant atmosphere in your home and create lifetime memories. Your children will enjoy decorating the table and make special menus for the evening. In this way, your children will get to know how work is done, and the process will help them in the future when they have acquired jobs.

  • You must take your children to a bookstore and ask them to help you choose a book for their family. Selecting the book will help them understand the importance of family values. Understanding family values is important for family members; family values count for interaction of kids with their parents.
  • If your child is sports enthusiast, then you should ask him or her to give you and your spouse the regular updates about what’s going on in the world locally and internationally. It will make your children know the importance of news, and they will start watching news in the future to keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the world.
  • You must do one-on-one activity with each child at least once a week. It will make your child independent. If your child become independent, then confidence will also develop in him. One-on-one activities also generate the belief of self-dependence in children.
  • You should choose Bible verses that your entire family can memorize together. You should ask your children to use a special journal or notebook to record Bible verses after the family has memorized it together. This process will make your children interested in religion. Religion affects personalities, and makes people look well-educated.
  • You should draw names to see who will be in the hot seat once a week after mealtime. Discard names after it is drawn, so that everybody can be eventually chosen. Family members will ask the person in the hot seat, a question that can be answered either by “Yes” or “No”. This will increase general knowledge of the family members, and it will also make children understand the importance of family values.
  • You must take your kids for prayers, in addition to bringing them to schools. They will realize the need for God by offering prayers. Prayers will also make your children religious.
  • Life is meaningless without fun. You should ask your kids to share ‘joke of the day’ by rotating shifts. You will feel happy when your kids have shared jokes with you, and it will also make your kids know how they can keep others happy.
  • You must have regular family nights with your children, and do something that everyone enjoys in your family. You can play both indoor and outdoor games with your children to make you and your children happy.

What have you learnt from the preceding ideas? Parents can not only become friends with their children, but also help their children to train for many things in life. Children will become confident if their parents give time to them. Kids will be trained how to perform job in lives if you ask them to arrange work atmosphere in your house. Children will learn about the family values when parents have trained them. Kids will remain up-to-date about sports news when their parents have asked them about the news.
