When I need to feed a crowd, I pull out my recipe for pork carnitas. It's super simple and makes enough for forty tacos at less than $20, including all the fixin's. The reason this recipe is so cheap is because I use a picnic shoulder pork roast. An inexpensive cut at only $.99 per pound, when prepared properly, it will fall off the bone and melt in your mouth.
There are a number of ways to make this recipe, depending on the kind of equipment you have in your kitchen and the number of mouths you're trying to feed.
