We live in Minnesota. We have a garden in the summer and freeze our extra produce that is organic. We compost what is left over of parts you don't eat and put back into the garden. We purchase fresh produce for the week during months that we don't have fresh garden produce or don't grow well in Minnesota. We have less waste this way and feel better about using what we have purchased.
